We know choosing a pet care provider is a big decision, and you should feel confident in the care your pets will receive. Below, you’ll find answers to some of our most common questions. If there’s something you don’t see here, just reach out — we’re always happy to help.

1. What areas do you service?
We provide pet care throughout New Orleans, LA. If you’re unsure whether we cover your neighborhood, just reach out — we’ll be happy to let you know.

2. Do you offer a free meet-and-greet?
Yes! Every new client receives a complimentary meet-and-greet before their first booking. This allows us to meet you and your pets, learn their routines, and answer any questions you may have.

3. How do I book services?
All scheduling is handled through our secure Time To Pet client portal. New clients should contact us first so we can create your account and discuss your pet’s needs. We always start with a free meet-and-greet to ensure your pet feels comfortable.

4. Do you care for pets other than dogs and cats?
Yes! In addition to dogs and cats, we also care for small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and other household pets. If you have a different type of companion, let us know — we’ll be glad to discuss whether we can accommodate their needs.

5. Can you give my pet medication?
Yes — we have experience administering medications and will follow your instructions carefully to ensure your pet’s safety and comfort.

6. How does your overnight care work?
Our overnight care includes a bedtime visit between 8–10pm and an early morning visit between 5–7am. We don’t stay overnight in your home, but full overnight services may be available on a limited basis. Contact us to discuss current availability.

7. Will my pet have the same sitter each time?
Yes — at this time, all visits are personally handled by the owner of Scout & Company Companion Pet Care. This ensures your pet receives consistent, attentive care every time. As our team grows in the future, we’ll continue to prioritize consistency by assigning the same sitter to each household whenever possible.

8. Are you insured and bonded?
Yes — Scout & Company Companion Pet Care is fully insured and bonded for your peace of mind.

9. What happens if there’s bad weather?
Safety always comes first. We adjust walks and outdoor time as needed, focusing on indoor play and enrichment when the weather isn’t ideal. Living in New Orleans, we’re also very mindful of high heat and humidity. For dogs that are heat-sensitive or prone to overheating, we limit outdoor time, choose shaded routes, and prioritize indoor care to keep them safe and comfortable.

10. What if I don’t see the service I need?
Every pet is unique, and we’re happy to discuss custom care options. If you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for, reach out — we’ll let you know if we can make it happen.

11. How do I know my pet is safe while I’m away?
Right now, all visits are personally handled by the owner of Scout & Company Companion Pet Care, so you can feel confident your pet is receiving attentive, consistent care. As our team grows, we’ll maintain these high standards through careful hiring, thorough training, and ongoing quality checks.
