1. Wilderdog Dog Harness
I’ve tried what feels like every harness on the market, and this one consistently comes out on top. It’s lightweight, easy to put on, and not bulky (a big plus for me). It has both a back and chest leash attachment, plus a sturdy handle for extra control. Most importantly, it fits well and doesn’t pull or chafe Scout — making it comfortable for both short walks and long hikes.

2. Wilderdog Cooling Bandanas
New Orleans summers are no joke, and these bandanas are a lifesaver. Just soak one in water, tie it on, and it gives Scout instant relief from the heat. They’re practical, durable, and come in plenty of fun colors and patterns — Scout may or may not have a collection.

3. Tuff Pupper PupFlask
This is a must-have for us, especially in summer. The PupFlask is a stainless steel dog water bottle with a silicone bowl dispenser that’s easy to use, spill-free, and eco-friendly. I also love the optional neoprene holder, which makes carrying it effortless. Staying hydrated on walks is essential, and this makes it simple.

4. Furhaven Memory Foam Dog Bed
At 14, Scout knows the value of a good nap. This bed gives her the support she needs, with memory foam that cushions pressure points and bolsters that support her neck, back, and hips. It’s durable, easy to clean (the cover is removable and washable), and replacement covers are available.

5. Outward Hound Hide A Squirrel Plush Toy Puzzle
Disclaimer: not for heavy chewers! But if your dog enjoys interactive play, this toy is a winner. The squeaky squirrels keep Scout entertained for ages — she loves pulling them out of the tree trunk and searching for them when I hide them around the house. We’ve bought it more than once because it’s just that loved.
